Date: 07-28-2007 Reviewer Name: David Rating: Comments: (1) Very bad part of town - massive amounts of homeless people in the area immediately around this hotel (2) Best Western reservation 800# states that a shuttle service offered by this hotel is available to Union Square. This is false information: They do not offer shuttle service. (3) No decent restaurants in the area - except a pizza joint and a Vietnamese restaurant across the street. In summary, the hotel is safe, but when you walk on the streets in front of and several blocks around the hotel you need an armed escort.
